About HPIX

Pennsylvania Healthcare Providers Insurance Exchange (PAHPIX) began offering physician medical professional liability insurance in Pennsylvania in January 2003. In July 2005 New Jersey Healthcare Providers Insurance Exchange (NJHPIX) was formed, followed by Maryland Healthcare Providers Insurance Exchange (MDHPIX) in July 2006. PAHPIX started offering coverage in Delaware in January 2008.

On July 1, 2008, PAHPIX changed its name to Healthcare Providers Insurance Exchange (HPIX). Over the months that followed, NJHPIX and MDHPIX completed a series of transactions that combined their businesses with HPIX to form one insurance entity.
